News & Announcements


There are significant changes in our promotion ceremony this year:

  • Families will only receive TWO free tickets for the Promotion Ceremony.
  • Families may purchase only TWO additional tickets for $2.50 each...CASH ONLY. Exact amount ($5 for two tickets) would be appreciated. No bills larger than $20 will be accepted. 
  • Families WILL NOT receive more than four tickets for the Promotion Ceremony.
  • EVERYONE over the age of five will be required to have a ticket.
  • There WILL NOT be a “standby line” that will allow people to wait to get in without a ticket.
  • A parent, guardian or family member (18 or older) must attend the mandatory Parent Promotion Meeting in order to receive their two free tickets and to purchase the two additional tickets (Tickets WILL NOT be given to students in class as they have been in the past).
  • The parent, guardian, or family member (18 or older) must show a valid California ID and sign for the tickets. 
  • The meeting will explain such things as parking, entering the stadium, guidelines for public safety and checking-out students after the ceremony.


The Mandatory Parent Meetings will be:

  • Monday, May 23rd
  • 6:00PM and 6:30PM
  • In the Smedberg Gym


Make-Up meetings will be held:

  • Tuesday, May 24th @ 7:00AM
  • Wednesday, May 25th @ 1:30PM

Should you need an accurate accounting of what books you ACTUALLY have outstanding on your record, please stop by the library with your ID and I will be happy to look up your CURRENT record for you.  Textbook information on school loop is not current, so please come straight to the source, me, Mrs. Somers, your teacher librarian.




Please see the attachment regarding course offerings throughout the school year. The focus of these workshops is to provide parents and staff with mental health supports for their student’s success within the school and home setting. All workshops are free and take place at the EGUSD District Office.


Next Workshop is May 18, 2016 titled 'The Effects of Violence on Children and Families' at Pleasant Grove High School (9531 Bond Road Elk Grove, CA 95624) from 6 to 7:30 pm. 


Presenters are from the Sacramento non-profit organization, Weave (Women Escaping a Violent Environment).

Weave is committed to breaking the cycle of violence by educating the community to better understand the issues of domestic violence and sexual assault.

  • Effects of violence on children
  • Intervention strategies
